Sorry to bug you again, guys. Skinner graciously offered me the freedom to mention Wishadoo! at DU periodically, bringing attention to DUers in need, as well as do a fundraiser specifically for Wishadoo! itself in response to being dissed on Glenn Beck's show.
Things fell apart over the last few months; I've been through a partnership dissolution, new programmers and now a brand new website. I'm getting ready to launch soon. FINALLY.
I've implemented a new tool at Wishadoo! which I think can help YOU guys out a lot. That's what I'm writing about here.
I've had the programmer create a "private Wishlist" option. I have created a group for DUers at Wishadoo --
http://www.wishadoo.org/group/du/ -- it's private, people have to be invited.
And, once they are a member of the private DU group, they will have access to a private Wishlist tool. Only other DUers can see the posts. Some will want to use the public Wishlist when they have needs and offerings, but others prefer to do this privately, between DU members only, and that option is now available.
With this in place, and with the ability to set up fundraisers as was done for asdjrocky last summer, I'm thinking this will take the burden off of you guys having to approve fundraisers.
When there is a fundraising or other similar need for a DUer, they can be referred to the DU Group at Wishadoo! instead, where these details can be worked out between members and making use of the tools there.
With that in mind, and since a DUer just posted to the Wishadoo! Wishlist there regarding a dire situation, here are my specific questions:
1. May I post to GD in the next few days, announcing this DU Group at Wishadoo! -- explaining that it's a private group and members must be invited, and also announcing that there is now the option of a private Wishlist tool for DU members?
2. I'm trying to have Wishadoo! structurally set up as a community-owned non-profit, and need to raise funds for Wishadoo! itself to keep the website going and pay legal fees and obligations incurred in the last few months. Do I still have permission to do a fundraiser for Wishadoo! at DU, with the previous verbiage you provided granting this permission?
3. Lastly, as I never, ever intend to bombard DU with things about Wishadoo!, even as it pertains to DUers' needs, my thought is to do a weekly post simply directing people there so they can see if they can help others, especially other DUers. If there ends up being a lot of activity, I would do a twice-per-week post at MOST.
As always, thanks in advance, and thanks for all you do!
:)
