Just out of curiosity, there is an interesting string of deleted messages here. Were those intended to be deleted subthreads or a policy change or was it a glitch or what?

The "delete subthread" tool is really for convenience sake. There are pros and cons to using it, and generally speaking we ask the mods to try to avoid using it if possible, and to delete individual messages instead. If a subthread is way too far gone it is often much more efficient to delete the whole thing rather than go through and take out the individual rule violations one by one.

Sometimes though, in shorter subthreads, you may see rule violations deleted individually instead. That's what has happened in this case. One thing that may have caused this is that alerts on different posts came in at different times, so different mods were on duty to take care of them.

The end result is the same, of course -- once all the individual rule violations have been deleted, there's not much point going back and deleting the subthread.
