Confusion about deleting subthreads vs individual messages.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=439&topic_id=426414&mesg_id=426658

Each comment in this subthread was deleted in a short period of time rather than the whole thing, but not the subthread itself. I'm just curious why, especially since I've seen entire subthreads deleted because of a handful of offending posts.

1. It appears that this subthread has been removed
The mods will usually try to delete individual posts before resorting to a subthread delete, which is what you may have seen here.

2. It was a bit surprising at the time.
The now deleted subthread had its own subthread, all 8-9 comments, of which were deleted individually. The way it is now is what I figured would happen, but it was a bit confusing at the time.
