Why was this thread moved from LBN to the I/P forum?

The rules say that if it's primarily to do with US policy regarding the conflict, then it can be posted in LBN. This one was about US policy, so why was it moved? If OPs about US policy regarding the conflict are going to be moved to I/P, then shouldn't the rules be changed to reflect that? Is it possible to get some clarification on what is and isn't allowed to be posted in LBN when it comes to US policy around the conflict, as I prefer to avoid the I/P forum...

1. This should come as no surprise.
While we sometimes let stuff like this stay, more often it ends up getting moved.

I don't understand the continued need for discussion of the I/P forum to be hidden away in it's own forum. Back in the early days when some former DUers were clogging up the big forums with their yelling and lists of dead people, it made sense. But not now. It's a volatile topic, but topics that carry the same level of volatility are allowed in the big forums. You said back when someone asked you about the need for the I/P forum that embarressing things get posted. That applies to quite a few topics that are allowed in the big forums. I'm not the only DUer who prefers not to post in the I/P forum if I can help it, so it means that I can't discuss the I/P conflict at DU, which sucks, because nearly everything else about DU is great except for that restriction....

Also, why wouldn't this post where someone I had on ignore at the time is slagging me off to another DUer be considered to be calling out another poster and be against the rules on civility? I know it definately wouldn't have remained in any other forum, and it's a real shame that the same standards aren't applied when it comes to the I/P forum...
