3-term breast-cancer survivor tougher cookie than the President of the United States
Edited on Tue Dec-22-09 05:37 PM by brentspeak
Obama wilted like an ice-cream cone under a hot-lamp on almost everything he promised concerning health care reform; Jane Hamsher, a private citizen without Goldman Sachs and Rahm Emmanuel flanking her, has stuck to her guns all the way.

The TR/FDR/Truman award For Not Being a Wuss goes to...Jane.

1. It's easy say bullshit on TV or post it on the internet.

It's a lot harder governing. Jane has done a poor job at the first. Obama has done an amazing job at the second.

14. Couldn't disagree more. He misrepresented himself to get elected.
Just like the "compassionate conservative" dude.

2. Except she has nothing at risk
No vote, no responsibilities for the future.

Cheap shot. These pundits can say anything. The more outrageous the better.

3. Not that I disagree with you about Obama on health care, but what legislation did Hamsher introduce?
Apples and oranges, IMHO

4. It is apples and oranges

but Hamsher willing to stick herself out in the public eye, push for genuine health care reform, and have tomatoes thrown at her from all directions for doing so stands in stark contrast to Obama's spinelessness and almost total lack of effort. She gets nothing but grief for standing up for what she believes in; Obama gets to be called the President of the United States just for showing up and waving to the camera, no matter what happens.

6. You mean Hamsher the known liar?
The one who's been raising money under the "Blue America" banner despite having been kicked out of Blue America months ago by the other bloggers involved for her unacceptable behavior?

7. Who provided your talking points?

And she parted bitterly from former allies in organizing Blue America PAC, with which she is no longer associated.

"I gave it the name, and now some people who were once associated with it have stolen our graphics and our brand without permission are using them to promote a splinter effort," Hamsher said, noting that the name "Blue America" was coined as a Firedoglake column.

"I don't know what that means - it doesn't make any sense and it doesn't have any basis in fact," responded Howie Klein, a former music executive, Los Angeles-based DJ, and lesser-known political blogger who declined to detail his falling-out with Hamsher, citing legal advice.

Seems like the only ones who know the facts surrounding the split aren't saying much, which means your allegation of "lying" is bogus.

10. Oh god, that is so Bev Harris redux
And if you don't remember Bev Harris, let me just remind you that she was the darling of this board and others until exposed as a fraud. (And I'm not talking ideology here: I'm talking out-and-out queen of lawsuits, prima donna, and huckster). Mark my words.

12. I have it straight from the lips (or email) of a fairly major national blogger, actually.

Hamsher and FDL were only one part of the formation of Blue America PAC, and she was removed from the effort by the other members. Now she's trying to claim it's still hers.

I notice everyone also forgets that FireDogLake in general and Hamsher in particular were among the loudest and most foul attackers of Obama during the primary, up to and including many articles which people considered racist.

8. Amen. May our Higher Power BLESS her courage to speak Truth to Power.
Lord knows that she must endure their pithy wrath.

I support Jane Hamsher. BLESS HER EFFORTS! :patriot: :grouphug:

13. let her get elected and have to deal with the ins and outs of governing
of trying to corral a herd of mangy cats each interested more in fucking each other, eating each others food, or shitting in each other's box, than in working towards a common goal.

Then we can see whether she is a tougher cookie.

Armchair quarterbacking and backseat driving always is easier than the real thing.
