14. People have been screaming about being "silenced" and "censored" for days
There have been tantrums. People have threatened to leave. People HAVE left. People have questioned the motives of the admins and accused them of trying to turn DU into a board for the Democratic Party (as if that is simply the worst thing in the world) or of trying to crush "dissenting liberals."
If all that is "just having some fun" to you then yeah, I can understand why we see things differently. I've said thank goodness for GD-P more times than I can count over the last three years, but after this past week I am more appreciative of the intelligence and maturity of posters here than ever before.
17. It does seem a bit more fun than the last few days
Probably because some folks that were freaking out have actually checked out DU3 and realized it wasn't the end of all life and existence as they were told/dreading.
Probably also because some folks that were freaking out actually did leave as they threatened. Whatever the reason, it is a bit better today.
13. Hmmm... I think lots of folks that post in GDP also post in GD
It's just that posts in GDP are 'sometimes' not as 'light hearted' as they are in GD. I've seen lots of GDP folks tonight posting in GD regarding the move.
I don't think there is much difference in the 'people' - we are all DUer and the majority are Democrats :)
I think most of the regular GDP posters are more focused on the challenges facing our nation than on the particulars of the coming DU3 launch. We're generally a more reasonable sort and we're used to being regularly "censored" because of the primary wars. We know not everyone is going to agree on an issue and thus have no need to make such appeals :-)
