It appears the party can't get away from their "Say no to everything" strategy, by saying "NO" to having any viable candidates for president.

1. *A lot* of voters who will choose Gringrich as their candidate will do so

not because he's their first choice. He's a contingency candidate. People will choose him because of who he isn't. First it will be Newt isn't Mitt Romney (read, Mormon, moderate, conservative). If Gringrich gets the nomination, he'll get votes because he isn't Obama.
