I don't always agree with Krugman, but he does know how to turn a phrase.

29. Given that the last person on the R side who had ANY claim
to being an intellectual was William F. Buckley and he's been dead a while, I assume that anyone posing as a Republican intellectual would be someone who talks like stupid people think intellectuals talk.

Buckley repeatedly argued against the war on drugs. His reasoning would have convinced any intelligent, thinking human being.

10. He is the intellectual of the Republican field the way Moe was the intellectual of the Stooges.
Edited on Mon Dec-05-11 02:48 AM by TacticalPeek

. . .

But here’s the part that really kills me. You’re kicking me to the curb because I was messing around, and instead you’re going with… Newt Gingrich? I repeat: are you fucking kidding me? Oh, I know what you’re saying: you love Newt because he’s an “intellectual.” Well, Newt Gingrich is the intellectual of the Republican field the way Moe was the intellectual of the Stooges.

And that leads me to my final point: you disgust me, America. Right now if I had my way, I’d up and move to another country. I really, truly would. Only I don’t know where any of them are, and my wife won’t let me leave the house.

Goodbye forever,

Herman

NASA has to compensate for Newt's Ego when configuring the flight path of satellite launches.

Newt's Ego has the ability to change the trajectory of artillery shells in flight.

If one gets too close and crosses the event horizon of Newt's Ego, they are never seen again as they get sucked into the black hole that comprises Newt's Ego.

Newt's Ego could have been used to validate the theory postulated by Albert Einstein that gravity can bend light waves.

Newt's Ego has it's own Zip Code.

Newt's Ego takes three days to turn completely around, once.

Being intentionally exposed to Newt's Ego is considered assault with a deadly weapon in thirty-two states, and every province of Canada.

Newt's Ego is so massive that clocks run slower the closer they get to it.

Newt's Ego is covered under every ICBM treaty this country ever ratified.

Newt's Ego has never actually been successfully measured by scientists, and when asked why not, they said, "We can't find an edge of the damned thing to start from!".

FEMA is working on ways to use it to deflect Hurricanes away from the East Coast.

Its so big that as the earth rotates, when his ego gets closer to the sun, the speed of the the earth's rotation increases ... and then, as the earth rotates, and his ego get farther from the sun, the speed of rotation decreases.

Scientists now think that a meteor crashing to earth is NOT what actually killed the dinosaurs. Given the size of the blast, and the effect, they have now concluded that it was in fact Newt's ego that crashed to earth and killed the dinosaurs.

NASA is now trying to use the gravitational pull of Newt's ego as a way to sling shot as space crate fast enough to go back in time ... so that the astronauts can prevent Newt's parents from meeting.

44. You know, somewhere out there, there's footage of Newt meeting with these two
TBN's Paul and Jan Crouch:

I used to watch them for laughs in the early 90s, and Newt made many a stop in '94 and '95 to kiss their rings of these nutcases and use their wingnutty program to win votes of the rubes. I'd love to see someone on the Democratic side get their hands on those tapes.
Note - this was before Newt supposedly found God and called off his continuing affairs.

46. Great jokes and comments all... but...
How smart and witty are you all going to feel when the true purpose of this shell-game reality-show called "The GOP Presidential Race" is revealed? It's not that hard to see that, with control over both the House and Senate, the GOP can do even more damage to "big-government" in Obama's second term than they did in his first.

By all means, keep gawking at the idiot parade while the GOP quietly takes over the Senate.
