Hahaha...

Thursday, December 01, 2011

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has surged to the largest national lead held by any candidate so far in the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary Voters finds Gingrich on top with 38% of the vote. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is a distant second at 17%. No other candidate reaches double-digits.

The national survey of 1,000 Likely Republican Primary Voters was conducted on November 30, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

22. The difference is that adultery might be immoral but it is legal. Whereas the sexual harassment that
Cain has alleged to have done is a crime.

31. Innocent until proven guilty?
I am not up on this, but has a court convicted the sexual harasser yet? AFIK a crime is said to have been committed when court says it has.

A few days ago?

I don't think any polling firm has polled him.

7. I'm guessing by late January - Newt will start tanking in the polls
The right is desparate to find anyone but Mitt to win.

16. Late January is too late
By then Newt will have won Iowa, New Hampshire, AND South Carolina, and be poised to win Florida. Nobody has ever won all of those and then lost the nomination in recent political history. Though in this political season, anything can and will happen.

polls horribly with moderates and independents.

Newt has more baggage than Imelda Marcos has shoes.
DNC will mercilessly exploit it with that Billion
dollar war chest.

30. One wonders how much of that is driven by Newt betting on himself
Just kidding. Newt couldn't be personally responsible for Intrade's recent shift since he was all in on himself from the beginning.

29. A Dem Dream
Seriously, outside of Sarah Palin, the Democrats could not have asked for an easier candidate to run against. It's Newt's to lose as of now and if the Mitt doesn't win Iowa it's over for him.

Newt is just an awful and a weak candidate for President. He gives almost every group a reason not to vote for him.
