Obama and the other Dems. have to make it CLEAR that the economy isn't good yet due to REPUBS..
Edited on Fri Nov-25-11 04:17 PM by jenmito
who have SAID that their number one goal should be to make Obama a one-term President. They should play this clip: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/07/10/mcconnell-stopping-obamas-re-election-still-single-most-important-goal/ Just play seconds 13-40 of the clip which shows Brett Baier repeating things in an email he got from Repubs. saying that a bad economy is good for their chances in '12, as well as repeating McConnell's quote.

The reason the video should be cut at :40 is because McConnell goes on to say (changing his words slightly) that this should be their top POLITICAL goal, trying to make it seem less damning. Then a voice should say that THIS is the reason out economy is not as good as it should be yet.

We need to get this message out there because too many people in the MSM are saying that if the economy doesn't improve, that'll be bad for Obama. It SHOULD be bad for the REPUBS.

1. That is reinforced with every single filibuster blocking jobs bills.
I hope the Dems keep trying over and over again until even the most not-plugged-in citizen is made aware of the obstructionism.

k&r :hi:

and the video I linked to is made even worse for Repubs. since it's a Faux anchor quoting all these damaging things. Thanks for the k&r. :hi:

3. The key phrase "and other Dems". I swear, most of the time you'd think that the president...
is the only Dem left in Washington. There has to be a chorus, and Democrats have to find their "unified" voice, and a way to get their message out past the M$M. The corporate media only seems interested in what the teabaggeri has to say, it's better for ratings I suppose.

4. The president doesn't have it in him to say that
he's too meek, conciliatory, and complicit. Why would he suddenly start calling Repukes out after three years as their punching bag?

5. I'm talking about Dems. making ADS showing video of McConnell saying what he said. And you
obviously haven't been paying attention. Obama HAS been calling those Repubs. out by name during every speech he's given in the last few months.

10. No, he doesn't
Probably the biggest reason his approval is stuck in the "barely re-electable" range. I am not one of those who thinks he sealed his fate when he invited the architects of the depression into his table of advisors. But if he told THEM that the jig was up, that they would either support job growth and severe penalties for white collar criminals or be replaced, the economy might have survived. On my good days I think he is just not presidential material - got a lot of bad advice and was unaware of the disaster it would create or afraid to fire the culprits. On bad days, he's part of the cabal. Mitch McConnell voted for every budget-busting, deficit-exploding fantasy put forth by George Bush. This should have been repeated every day beginning with the first time McConnell ever mentioned the deficit. I agree whole-heartedly with the OP, BTW, I just think the president has the stomach for a fight.

13. It's still "the economy stupid". That's why his numbers are what they are. But there's hope...

15. The poster I was responding to said,
"Why would he suddenly start calling Repukes out after three years as their punching bag?" Obama most certainly HAS called Repubs. out. He's been calling out McConnell for saying he said his goal is to make him (Obama) a one-term president. He's been calling out Boehner for not wanting to fix the decrepit bridges in his own state (among other things). He's called out others, too-by name.

12. Have you attended every one of the president's events? Just because you don't see it on the teevee,
doesn't mean it hasn't happened. And your PL talking points are outdated and redundant. :eyes:

21. Amen, sister! But it's more frustrating seeing Democrats fall prey to right wingnut traps!
Very sad that while we tear each other apart, the ReThugs are steady winning elections!!
