RASSMUSSENREPORTS: OBAMA APPROVAL NOW 50%, DISAPPROVAL 49(+1)
Edited on Mon Nov-14-11 11:48 AM by Tiggeroshii
I'm pretty sure I'm still in violation of the terms of my little bet I made for myself several weeks ago, but I like to think I was still sort of on the right track.

Approval: 50%

Dissaproval: 49%

10. I think much of this rise has to do with the repub debates. By the time
they're over Obama will be in the "65" area..LOL..

5. Keep lying to yourself if you want.
The only thing you show off is how little connection you have to what's really going on.

to be her only point in this forum, and she can scurry off to other sites and brag about it. :hi:

25. so why didn't you post Rassy numbers earlier, in support of your ridiculous assumption?
Your statement makes very little sense, and the data actually refutes it. Bull shit statement from an Obama hater that hangs out on a Dem BB. How dumb is that?

For the Republican nomination, that is--nationally. Which, if it holds, Obama's approval will skrocket to 70%.

I kid you not: this is hysterical. http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/updates/1861?ref=fpblg_beta

6. I saw that, too, and was going to start a thread about it. I think the last time (R)asmussen had
Obama's approval at or above 50% was when bin Laden was killed.

11. Obama appears to be benefiting from comparison with the Republican candidates.
The longer Romney fails to break out on top the more he is going to be tied to the nut jobs who are the Republican candidates. If he does finally win the question is going to be, "but who did he beat?" A long primary only benefits the eventual winner if he had worthy opponents.

15. Rasmussen is generally regarded as biased in favor of the GOP. Yet he has Obama doing better than
any other poll right now in terms of approval vs disapproval. Every other poll shows Obama with a negative approval rating. The RCP average is -4.7, yet Rassy has it as +1. The latest ABC/WaPo poll has it at -9.

And frankly, every poll has Obama trending strongly upwards over the last few weeks.

17. How can you blame RCP? All they are doing is republishing other poll results.
If you don't believe it check the individual websites of the various pollsters and you will see that the stats quoted by RCP are accurate.

22. RealClearPolitics have been known to cook their results
During the 2008 election, it was obvious they changed the polls they took into account in calculating their daily averages, blatantly underestimating the Democratic vote - a different day, a different set of pollsters, depending on the results.

Not saying that's necessarily what they've done here because I don't pay them much attention as a result, but they're no reliable authority.

23. Bingo. Typically any pro-Republican outliers are always included there...
...while any which favor Democrats are discarded. RCP is full of it.

I looked and couldn't find one. I'll wait for your link. If you can provide one then I will gladly stand corrected.

Should we focus on numbers that came out last week Thursday?

28. Every poll listed on the RCP site is the latest poll that each polling organization has done.
Not all polls are conducted at exactly the same time.

32. We should take all polls with a grain of salt at this point, whether or not they
are favorable. But poll results are posted at DU all the time. I think it's just a matter of curiosity.
