New Iowa Poll: Cain leads but Newt coming on strong (Romney in third place)
Edited on Mon Nov-07-11 12:36 PM by WI_DEM
Could Newt suddenly become the new flavor of the month?

A new We Ask America poll in Iowa finds Herman Cain leading the GOP presidential field with 22%, followed by Newt Gingrich at 18%, Mitt Romney at 15%, and Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul at 11%.

No other candidate gets more than 5%.

5. Please don't tell me Newt's nanny hung herself at his birthday party
or I'll start getting a real spooky feeling.

6. The Republican party is imploding, that's what is happening.

They are all "so pure" that almost no one will be able to survive their purity tests.

The party is collapsing in on itself.

7. NEWT!! NEWT!! NEWT!! No one unmasked the spirit of the modern GOP more than him.
Edited on Mon Nov-07-11 07:04 PM by Douglas Carpenter
He is about as warm and cuddly as a tarantula. Every other candidate has at least enough humanness in them so that - all politics aside it was possible to imagine how people might at least like them personally. Even a number of Democrats seemed to think that Ronald Reagan was at least personally warm and charming. No doubt many people feel the same about Palin, Bachmann, Perry and Cain. Lots of people really bought into the George W. Bush seems like "a regular guy" frame. Newt cannot hide his true nature under the fluff of feel good.
