GRAPHIC: A Timeline Of GOP Economic Sabotage
GRAPHIC: A Timeline Of GOP Economic Sabotage (Media Matters)

As the 8-minute documentary on Republican obstructionism we released today demonstrates, the GOP has made good on Sen. Mitch McConnell's (R-KY) commitment to defeating President Obama as the party's "top political priority." Sabotage details the willful economic ignorance behind the conservative effort to undermine the president and win the next election — an ugly reality about the current political moment that was confirmed last month when Republicans gleefully piled onto (inaccurate) initial reports that zero net jobs had been created in August. The timeline below illustrates how Republicans have used their House majority to pick counterproductive ideological fights on everything from women's reproductive rights to the full faith and credit of the United States, even as insufficient progress in the jobs market demands a serious and ambitious response (click to enlarge):

4. Kick -
and it was very interesting reading the timeline. Even trying to pay attention to how things go, I didn't recall that the extension of the bush tax cuts (and unemployment benefits) came immediately after the elections that swept the GOP back into power.
