10/19-21/11....Approve-43%...Disapprove....49%

2. It's coming.
Maybe it's taking a while. If not, it's the economy. People care much more about bread and butter right now.

16. Bush-41 got a big bounce from Kuwait war
but it did not result in his re-election! Why?
That's right the economy was on a downward path.

4. And how long would the bounce last?
As long as the one from Osama bin Laden? At least the President was hands-on with that one, and OBL was a far greater enemy to the US than Khadaffy Duck ever was.

8. Two reasons
1. Americans aren't invested in Qaddafi. They don't particularly care. There was no ramp-up to the war, no perception of an imminent threat, no great support or even concern over who won in the Libyan civil war. Americans didn't perceive any kind of national interest in it.

2. As soon as Democratic president took office, the media and nearly everyone else just . . . kind of forgot about Iraq. It wasn't on the nightly news, there weren't headlines or long articles in papers about it. What attention has been given to war was refocused on Afghanistan with the escalation there and the killing of Bin Laden. Iraq stopped pinging on the national radar screen some time ago.

We have the attention span of ferrets, basically.

9. Because
overall, Americans don't give a damn about Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan etc. Americans care about the economy, jobs and prosecuting the banksters that destroyed everything.

It's the economy, stupid.

10. obama playing footsie with the republicans didn't even earn him a vote.
in fact, it hurt him.

People are worried about their standard of living, their job, their home, food, college, bills.

13. If Obama were a Republican...
There would be a noticeable bounce despite the economy! The American people have been brainwashed into thinking the GOP is better at defending this country & taking care of our Veterans...Of course, neither one is true! The American people somehow ignore all the BLUNDERS & the fact the Republicans did not fully fund the VA back when they had full control of the Government despite the on going disaster that was playing out in Iraq with tens of thousands of solders coming home with missing body parts...And it took the Democratic threat of a filibuster to get the GOP fund the VA!

The American People are suckers for the Authoritarian nature of the GOP & they equate that with success in defending this country despite the evidence to the contrary! SAD!

though I think he might get a bounce from the troops leaving Iraq. He needs an economic bit of good news that is on par with this.

17. well, funny you should mention that... Per Gallup, the 10/15 UE numbers
were way low compated to the 9/15 numbers....they kind of predicted that
the overall UE rate may dip below 9 for October....something even
Obama said wouldn't happen before next November. win-win if it does -
more back to work and better chance no repuke to completely crush the US.

18. I actually agree that his overall numbers should be higher (but
should have had some little bounce, IMHO)...higher, since, it doesn't
take into account the disheartened liberals who will despite it all
probably come home and vote for Obama.

25. Those numbers look fucking fantastic to me!
Do you think they are running the real numbers? Oh, hell no! They have shaved them as much as they can, and he's still hovering around 50%! That's fantastic!

You have to look at these things through the sewage colored glasses the RW paints them under... that's all you need do to see how spectacular those numbers really are.

31. Because he doesn't have FAUX news and the MSM salivating and simpering over him
in the same way they did with Dubya every time even some trivial thing happened in Iraq. Instead they continue their campaign of lies and minsinformation -already you have the Republicans and others who should know better parroting the line that everything that happened in the Middle East over the past six months happened because of how Dubya gave democracy and freedom to the Middle East
