Wht's Up With Herman Cain's Campaign Buying His Autobiographies And Then Giving Them Away?
That doesn't sound kosher...

1. 1) Puts him on the NYT Bestseller List; and 2) Puts money in his pocket
That's what's up with it . . .

But you probably already knew that.

2. Romney and Perry will jump on this. Camels back cliche' is appropriate here.
There are previous threads on this. I think it is illegal but I'm not a lawyer.

4. That's been a mainstay of the "conservative book world"
for a long time. They buy up all the books because it artificially jacks up the number of books sold giving the loser that wrote the thing or in most cases the losers ghost-writer best seller status.

Herman's doing that because having his loaf of shit disguised as a book go best seller will allow him to raise his speaking fees after he drops out of the repuke presidential contest.

6. True!
The difference is that Cain didn't have the common sense to get a third party to buy up the books and give them away - instead, he's got his own fingerprints all over it.

That was really dumb, Cornbread.

7. Let Me See If I Have This Right
He's taking donated money to buy his own books. Why doesn't he spend every cent he collects in campaign donations on books?

He could get really, really rich...

10. Especially since they won't be taxed under his plan because
they would be considered used.

9. There is a problem with him using campaign funds to enrich himself.
It was on MoJo; the thinking was, this was not a allowable use of campaign funds. By the campaign buying large amounts of his books he reaps the profits. Why do I think this is all he was ever in this for in the first place, book sales, speaking engagements, and perhaps a spot on FAUX News. In fact other than Paul, Romney and Perry, I think that's what the whole gaggle are in it for; Santorum, Cain, Gingrich and Bachmann.....Money, Money, Money. It's the Sarah Palin "How to Get Rich Quick" strategy.

13. He got the idea from Sarah Palin
Like Cain, Palin is the largest purchaser of her autobiography.

(When I am president I will propose a law that anyone under 60 who writes his or her own autobiography is to be flogged Singapore-style.)
