Question: I hear the protesters are nothing but a bunch of uneducated fools who don't

even know why they are there........... I refuse to believe this.

Apparently, Fox News ran a video of the protesters attempting to answer the question "why are you against capitalism"........ and they sounded like fools.

But they are NOT against capitalism, only Wall Street greed and corruption!

1. Don't think that many aren't against capitalism.
As far as uneducated goes - that's right wing propaganda.

2. That's not a question, that's a smear headline
Aside from that, why am I against capitalism?

1. For the same reason I think that, when you play Monopoly, that the banker shouldn't be allowed to invent new rules whenever they feel like it. You can either have free enterprise, where a regulated system allows competition on a relatively equal basis, or you can have capitalism, where the largest capital holders get to change the rules without oversight and veto power by the other players.

2. Name an ism that hasn't failed, with consequent wholesale slaughter. Just name one.

3. I'm not against capitalism, I'm against criminals and theft.

4. Because it's destroying the most successful economy the world has ever seen, the one with a 91% maximum income tax.

5. Because my Constitution guarantees me a Constitutional republic as a government, not an oligarchy.

I wonder how many people Fox had to ask before they found someone without a ready answer?

3. IF some 'sounded like fools,' it likely was because
its not the easiest immediate response, expecially being 'interviewed,' to say, 'I don't accept your premise.'

'Duh, Wha? You kidding?' more likely immediate responses.
imo

8. Practice makes perfect. "I don't accept your premises" is ALWAYS my answer to right-wing arguments
Otherwise you end up answering the question "why do you rape children with a broom handle instead of a dildo?" and 'Duh, Wha? You kidding?' usually doesn't fly as an answer to that question.

9. Right, practice does make perfect, and we should be practiced in these situations.
otherwise we lose chances to make points and to influence people.

4. This is what I fear and why I have been harping on the idea that focused messages must be developed
One sentence, 10 words or less of why the protests are happening and one sentence, 10 words or less of what the protesters want.

That is essential to these protests accomplishing something.

12. I did some research and support them, but really, you could have responded with information
like their position statements. That is what I was looking for.

6. It was my understanding from Chris Hayes who went down and
personnally vitited and interviewed many of them:

His main take away: These are college educated young
people who understand the system and know what they
are talking about.

Mjost have experienced real pain from the actions of
Wall St.
