Attention please. Paul Krugman's status has been upgraded to "hero"
Edited on Sat Dec-19-09 06:29 PM by mcablue
Disclaimer: Paul Krugman's status as "villain," granted to him when he said the stimulus was too small and Rahm cursed him out in the New Yorker magazine has been changed to "hero."

We reserve the right to change the status to "villain" once again, in the event that he disagrees with my favorite politician on a major issue in the near future.

3. Let's see...do I want to trust Paul Krugman, or the people in the Obama
Edited on Sat Dec-19-09 06:45 PM by AndyA
Administration who have CLOSE TIES to the very people who brought our economy to the brink of destruction?

I think I'll take my chances with Krugman.

Edit to add: I'm not in agreement with Krugman on the HCR bill, but we'll have to see what's in the final version.

4. We have always been at war with Eurasia, and Eastasia is our ally
I was hoping the end of the Bush regime would have brought to an end to the Orwellian nightmare he brought us. I was wrong!

6. Krugman's argument that the stimulus was too small was not the problem,
Edited on Sat Dec-19-09 06:35 PM by Phx_Dem
he was right. The problem with his argument was that he thought Obama could just push it through or somehow, miraculously, get a bigger bill through Congress. Krugman's facts and reasoning are never his problem, his problem is that he appears, at times, to not understand how Congress works. Kinda like Bill Mahr.

The House is rarely a problem. But in the Senate where we have exactly 60 Dems, and the GOP refusing to vote for anything, we have to have every single Democrat + Lieberhole voting with us or we can't get anything passed. Why is that so fucking hard for smart people like Krugman and Mahr to understand? And no, threatening doesn't always work because they know they have the upper hand with their lone vote.

9. Good one.

I can't believe that ANY post supporting the President on virtually ANYTHING is IMMEDIATELY thrown in the dumpster by the unrec crowd.

And conversely, anything BASHING Obama is nearly immediately elevated to the greatest page - the most offensive tend to rise right to the top of the GP.

At some point, Skinner will have to do something about this situation - it just can't keep going as it is now - this is not a sustainable model for a Democratic supporting website.

I've put some thought into solving this (mostly through modifications/limitations to the # of unrecs or how they are displayed - what are your thoughts?

8. Calling out changes in "status" works both ways - you may wish you hadn't started this
All you're doing is feeding the unrest and upsetting people here.

Why are you so negative all the time?
