1. The contrast between the two could not be starker.
I respect his actions here, during this crisis...

2. Bush only ADDED to the misery after Katrina, with the armed National Guardsmen
Edited on Sat Aug-27-11 07:03 PM by pacalo
standing everywhere for over a month in the aftermath; plus, checkpoints everywhere asking for id's.

Secondly, that picture which is third from the bottom worries me. That resident's doorstep surrounded by sandbags is going to serve as an overflowing cup when the hard wind & rain hits. The resident would be wise to secure several large 3/4" plywood sheets across both sides of the rails to deflect the water from the front door. Yikes.

3. In 1964 a class 3 hurricane hit New Orleans, President Johnson at 6:00 am the next morning
showed up at a shelter in New Orleans, held a flashlight up to his face and told the people, "I'm Lyndon Johnson, the President of the United States. I'm here to help."

George (Heck of a job Brownie) took three days to fly over the flooded city during Katrina and look forlornly out the planes window from 30,000 feet. He first attended fund raisers, wolfed down cake at a birthday party for John McCain where he played air guitar for the guests.

5. The picture of the Black guys stealing the bags of sand
was a bit shocking!! :sarcasm: Sorry, I couldn't resist! What a difference is right. To sit here and know that the victims will not be abandoned by our Govt. feels good. I love how the President is handling this so far. :)

8. Preparation is key and they clearly learned from Bush's mistakes...
Although a head of lettuce could have not made them in the first place, the onus is on Bush for that screw up.

9. Thanks; they have done everything possible from what I've
heard. You can't fool Mother Nature, but you can react the way a President should. This is happening, and despite the grim forecasts, I'm happy the admin is on it.

I often disagree with President Obama, but the two are very different.

15. Kick.
The fact that FEMA and the States worked together to avoid a catastrophe meant that there was no catastrophe. Republiscums now claim nothing happened.
