what's this about the Bushes + Rove taking Perry out?
I just caught a smidgen in passing on MSNBC tonight. Howard Dean and Chris Hayes were talking about the Bushes taking Perry out of the race. What's that about? Is it because they are planning to run Jeb in 2016?

6. Never even thought of that. But a Texan would know not
to fuck with the BFEE, don't you think? He says anything, oops, accident. The former head of the CIA has lots of contacts.

9. In 1990, I heard a guy who at the time I thought
was a little whack, conspiracy theory-wise (but of course has since been proven to be correct in much of what he set forth), saying that he knew people in TX and the general understanding was, you don't fuck with the Bushes. :scared:

8. It's true.
The Bush people in The Lone Star State don't care much for Rick Perry and have sent the Father of Darkness, Karl Rove, out to lead the vanguard to take him out. This won't fare well for he who has hair too fair to wear a cowboy hat.

Think what you will about Rove inc, but they know what they're doing, and they know how to do it. Expect Perry to disappear by Xmas in a Howard Dean scream incident.

12. Perry used to be a democrat ...
he was a Rove developmental project, and Rove got him elected to agriculture commissioner or something like that.

Perry ended up being Lt Governor with Bush Jr., and apparently was in a tough race and wanted to go negative to make sure he won. Bush was a sure bet, but Rove wanted Bush to run up the totals and did not let Perry go negative. Perry won, but had bad feelings over that.

THEN, they broke ways when Rove and company backed Kay Bailey Hutchinson for the governor slot against Perry. Also, apparently, Perry has cocked off too many times saying the truth that Bush was not actually a texan, and that he was not a true conservative. No in the media so much, but enough to enough people that it got back to Rove and company.

There is enough bad blood that Rove knows he will not be in the inner circle if Perry makes it, and he knows Perry is a good bet, so he is trying to ding him. But, Perry does not need him. Rove may not give Perry money directly, but the people who give money to Roves operation can just give it directly to Perry instead.

18. Leaning toward Romney.
Politico had a story a few days ago about the Rove/Bush Perry thing that goes back years.

19. I'm guessing a sacrificial lamb (Romney fits the bill) then Jeb runs in 2016
I may be crazy but why would the Republicans--the serious ones, NOT want to let Obama have a second term. Let him own the economy and do the tough unpopular things that need to be done in order to get things back on the upswing and anger many people in the process. In 2016, along comes Jeb all Florida sunshine and brightness with an upbeat message to promise prosperity through tax cuts for all and a return to the days when America stood tall and proud.

It's still too early for Jeb even though he lacks his brother's annoying Texas twang and is generally perceived to be George's smarter brother. By 2016 Obama may even have the economy on the rebound as Clinton did in 2000 making it a much more attractive prospect for their business buddies.

20. I agree with your idea of sacrificial lamb. Not sure Romney fits that roll.
McCain /Palin were perfect in 2008. And I agree that Jeb will come riding in in 2016 to save the Republican Party and the nation.
