Rick Perry Raises Predator Drones As Possible Border Security Solution
Can we please stop with the "there's no difference between Obama and the Rethuglicans" crap already?

Rick Perry Raises Predator Drones As Possible Border Security Solution

Newly-minted Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry raised the idea of turning to Predator drones to help secure the country's border with Mexico during a stop in New Hampshire over the weekend, the Boston Globe reports.

According to the local outlet:

Perry noted many unarmed aircraft are already flown in the area each day as practice for the Air Force pilots who will guide them overseas.
The Texas governor asked, “Why not be flying those missions and using that real-time information to help our law enforcement?” He added, "Because if we will commit to that, I will suggest to you that we will be able to drive the drug cartels away from that border.”

It's not the first time Perry has floated the idea of incorporating Predator drones into efforts to secure the border. During an interview on Fox News last year, the Lone Star State Republican made the same suggestion. He said, "My question to this administration, how many Americans have to die on that border before you really understand we need boots on the ground, a law enforcement presence, National Guard troops, predator drones flying in the air, that technology that those pieces of equipment have to give real-time information to law enforcement, to the local police chiefs?"

I am not American by birth and thank God I have other places to go if this man ever becomes President.

No legitimate, proper country would elect someone like that nationwide. None. I may have been disappointed in the past, but I genuinely have faith at this time that the American public will NEVER give this man enough votes to serve as President.

You know actually try to find equable solutions, instead of using bombs & bullets as the answer for everything?

unless Perry plans to start arming these things he's not doing anything new.

The U.S. government will have unmanned surveillance aircraft monitoring the whole southwest border with Mexico from September 1, as it ramps up border security in this election year, a top official said on Monday.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said U.S. Customs and Border Protection would begin flying a Predator B drone out of Corpus Christi, Texas, on Wednesday, extending the reach of the agency's unmanned surveillance aircraft across the length of the nearly 2,000 mile border with Mexico.

5. The vibe I got from Perry is that...
He'd probably have them armed and ready to fire. But I could well be projecting given recent violent comments that he's made and the general air of malice and recklessness which exudes from every pore. He's a terrifying character, and I truly believe that he will be dealt a crushing blow at the ballot box if the GOP nominate him next year. The American people have made mistakes, but he crosses the line.

If Dan Quayle was no Jack Kennedy, Rick Perry is certainly no George W. Bush.

4. OR border processing points - I mean we can get ripped off plenty on building them
but we don't want the "illegals" to be able to come here like our ancestors did....our ancestors organized and Tyson Foods, Smithfield Packing, and BigAg don't want that.
