Here's a good example of how an MSM title obscures what the President says
Title: Obama to supporters: Don't get 'bogged down' on war, taxes

What Obama said:

<...>

"I think the key is not to get too bogged down in detail," the president said last night.

"If somebody asks about taxes, nobody is really interested in hearing what precise marginal tax rate change would you like to see in the tax code," Obama said. "What they want to know is that our campaign stands for a fair, just approach to the tax code that says everybody has to chip in, and that it’s not right if a hedge fund manager is being taxed at a lower rate than his or her secretary."

On Afghanistan and Iraq, Obama said: "If somebody asks about the war, whether it’s Iraq or Afghanistan — if it’s Iraq, you have a pretty simple answer, which is all our folks are going to be out of there by the end of the year. If it’s Afghanistan, you can talk about, look, we think it’s time for us to transition to Afghan lead and rebuild here at home. So, again, it’s a values issue: Where are we prioritizing our resources?"

5. Well, if they based their opinions on reality, they might have to actually complain at Republicans.
And we all know trashing Democrats is just so much more fun. :eyes:

7. Every time he's called a press conference, he's been broadcasted on every channel.
Shows interrupted and all.

9. And what good would that do with attitudes like that in post #3?
He has outlets that are there 24/7, for example Whitehouse.gov, OFA, and West Wing Week.

But there are a group of people who would sit there and watch him say just this and dismiss it out of hand. Or who would respond per the post just above yours.

They'll take Boehner's smug proclamations at face value and believe the worst the MSM has to say about the POTUS.

Let's see someone honestly say they'd give this more consideration if they heard it in the proper context without the MSM spin/filter treatment.

12. To be perfectly honest, he has made himself weak by approaching the right wing helplessly....
I think I'm measuring him against the way I react. If someone insults ME or MINE, I strike like a lioness. I don't allow any time for assessment. I simply DO NOT permit anyone to insult me or those I love.

He made himself look helpless by approaching them constantly. He should've called upon HIS BASE, who knocked themselves half-dead working hard to get him elected. We would've done anything for him.

Instead, he hasn't quit from day 1 to BEG the right wing to like him.

I HATE THAT!!!!!!!!!

14. So do I!
I don't think it is fair to put all the blame on Obama, although I am disappointed in his seeming inability to learn that the Republicans simply will not do anything constructive if it means that Obama gets any credit for it. But the real problem is the Republicans and the DINO Democrats in the Senate. When they had a chance to change the tax code before the Republicans took over the House they simply punted. But watching Obama makes me think of Charlie Brown repeatedly trying to kick the ball that Lucy snatches away from him each time. It makes me crazy!!

15. The Repukes have been the problem for 31 years. Obama is a genius, brilliant....

I'm not understanding why he's going to the people that TRASH him for approval.

I don't get it. I swear to God I don't.

It's the OPPOSITE of what I'd do. If somebody is against me, trashing me, I DO NOT go to them. I appeal to my friends, my family, those who LIKE ME, to fight with me against the assholes.

I do NOT understand Obama. I don't know anyone who does.

8. The MSM believe the public is as lazy and shallow as they are
and most of the time that's the only thing they get right.

13. Truth is the first casualty of war.
"if it’s Iraq, you have a pretty simple answer, which is all our folks are going to be out of there by the end of the year"

That's bullshit, if not a flat out lie.

If this is a pep talk to volunteers, he'd better be recruiting scientologists who are better prepared to peddle crap.
