Choice-defense tsunami headed for DU tomorrow
Edited on Sat Dec-19-09 01:21 AM by Kurt_and_Hunter
Harry Reid will release details of the yet-unseen senate bill tomorrow.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=433x73328

Somewhere in the bill are abortion concessions made to Nelson today in "day long" negotiations with Reid, et al.

By whacking all government competition from the bill by fiat Joe Lieberman has set a very high bar for what an extortion-vote is worth, so I doubt Nelson came away from the table empty-handed.

If he did I will be pleased. By the fruit of Reid hammering stuff out with one of these conservadems hasn't been a picnic so far.

(I make NARAL look like the RNC so there's no slight intended in my tsunami metaphor.)

Buckle your seat-belts. :hi:

and since the day PhRMA held meetings at the WH, every part of this process has been shrouded in secrecy.

18. I know.
Some people would be throwing their steel toes boots at the TV screen and that could cause an electrical shock next time they touch the TV. Softer shoes might not be a problem.

Not to mention all of us who are uninsured and have high blood pressure. Blood vessels would be popping everywhere if they had aired it. I'm not sure anyone I know could have watched it without their blood pressure going up entirely too much.

16. But Obama said this was all going to be done in the open!
He said the entire Health Care process would be on C-SPAN.

Well, maybe he's been so busy he forgot about that!

11. If it passes that would be every Dem + 2 Independents.
And we are already working to defeat the 40 Republicans.

So we would be working to defeat every senator.

Not objecting, just noting that if a bill passes every Senate Dem and 85% (or whatever it works out to) of House Dems will have voted for it.

And I say this as a 30+ year Democratic activist!

put back in the public option, Medicare buy-in, and take out the abortion clauses

When that is voted on, and probably defeated, take names, and use it in 2010 against them that those that are against it, do not want healthcare for its citizens

Unless we get a true majority nothing is going to happen, and this would provide the basis for it
