3. Obama previously said that he will allow the Bush tax cuts to expire in 2012

He will claim that to be the revenue in the deal. Essentially he thinks it's a victory that the agreement didn't make the tax cuts permanent.

4. And he really does not think they will hold something else hostage

for the extension, or permanency, of those cuts at that time? They will be running their 2012 campaign on "Obama is going to RAISE YOUR TAXES", after doing everything in their power to keep the economy in the crapper.

He will extend them, or he will lose the election (that, at least, will be his justification for extending them again).
