We Need Jobs And Not Budget Cuts
We have a chronic problem which is an expanding debt and an acute problem which is unacceptably and immorally high joblessness. Twenty million of our fellow Americans are either unemployed, underemployed, or are too discouraged to look. Let me repeat. Twenty million of our fellow Americans are either unemployed, underemployed, or are too discouraged to look.

Cutting government spending is only going to increase joblessness. If we can borrow money at favorable rates to create jobs, and I don't necessarily mean government jobs, it's immoral not to.
Recessions are caused by a lack of aggregate spending (DUH). The government is the only player , in this economy, with access to money that can stimulate the economy.

The last president to balance the budget in a economic downturn was Herbert Hoover. When Japan was in the midst of their "Lost Decade" in the 90s they instituted an austerity program in 1997. It made the problem worse.

I empathize with President Obama. If I believed in conspiracies I would believe he was deliberately set up to fail, to be the patsy or fall guy.

When I think what the Republicans and the Tea Party have done to this country and my twenty million other fellow unemployed Americans, and their total lack of concern for our plight I get apoplectic. I was going to use Jesus' famous words on the Cross when he said " Forgive them father for they know not what they have done" but that would be blasphemous.

They want the economy to fail. They want President Obama to fail. They want this in their naked pursuit of power.
