1. Boehner called up Obama and said he's done trying to negotiate
Boehner now wants to deal directly with the Senate instead of with the White House.

2. Boner flounced out of the meetings in a snit. Obama got pissed.
Other than that, nothing has changed since yesterday. There's no new proposal, no deal, no 14th amendment solution, just a lot of drama with no real significance.

3. So Boehner showed his true colors?
Is that about it?

4. Right, Boehner didn't get his way, threw a hissy fit, and blamed it on Obama.
That's it.

5. But what was the disagreement about?
Why did "orange man" walk out? Regarding what position did Obama take a stand against? What was the big disagreement?

10. So orange man would not agree to any increase of any kind ..
in taxes? And he walked out over that? No surprise there.

16. Boner claimed Obama moved the goal posts
According to Boner, they had reached an agreement on amount of tax increase based mostly on closing loopholes, and then Obama wanted $450 Billion more in taxes. That is Boner's explanation on why he walked out of WH negotiations.

12. There is still no deal
and there is a meeting on Saturday. Aside from that, a lot of people have said a lot of words that may or may not mean anything and may or may not be all true or partially true.

The offshoot is that President Obama appeared as frustrated with Republicans as most people can remember.

15. Obama bluffed, the Republicans blinked (neither side can win cutting 'entitlements').
I have no doubt Obama would have sincerely went after 'entitlements' but he was going to always blame the Republicans during the elections, and it would've been effective. "We tried to get a deficit deal but the Republicans wanted entitlement cuts." But by the same token Obama is a wise man and he knows that the Republicans are cowards and they wouldn't do it if Obama signed off completely, because they couldn't play it right in a national election.

Then we have the Republicans claiming that they want to cut entitlements even more which is why they walked, but of course, that's merely pandering to the far right in their party, and they know that doing any sort of cuts in that vein is a losing strategy.
