Poll question: How long before Bachmann goes down in flames?
You know that sooner or later, Batshit Bachmann is going to flame out. When?

1. Which Bachmann are you referring to?
I ask because, to my eyes, Markus is already flaming.

8. Not interested in knowing.
I have this mental image of him going "I learned this from my wife" while CrazyEyes stands behind (above?) him and nodding.

2. I don't think she will make it through many more debates
not sure why, that's just my feeling. If Romney, Pawlenty and the rest are smart they can go after her for the subsidies and the crazy shit her husband does.

5. Can't be too soon for me. My guess is when the first gay man
comes out with pictures of him and Markus - you know they're out there. Come on, all you guys. Go through your old pictures and see if there's one there.

18. I think you're right. someone is going to drop a dime. go to a tabloid with
juicy pics. There's money to be made so why not?

I don't know when it'll come out but I suspect the middle of the primary campaigns. Her campaign will suddenly close its doors. She'll go into seclusion after her "statement" to the press about ending her campaign. He will move out of their house immediately. She will resign her seat in the House.

Then, during the general election campaign, she'll quietly file for divorce.

6. I'm going with after Iowa
It will either be apparent to her she will lose, or if she wing, the media scrutiny will bring out all kinds of interesting stuff.

7. "Flames" is an interesting choice of words,
considering the fact that those of Marcus Bachmann can be seen from outer space.

15. Hopefully, she goes "down in flames" before
the country goes up in flames, which is what will happen if she becomes President.

17. We have a winner
Bachmann has Iowa in hand without Perry in the race. The people there who will drive the caucuses in that party EAT UP her radical positions, and she is from the state.

The thing about the radical right wing, they LOVE red meat, and the more off the wall a Bachmann or Palin is, the more it endears them to these women - it just naturally goes to the victimization thing the party engrains in people.

But, Rick Perry is the lurking monster here. Perry is just as off the wall, and brings a much more dominant personality. He also is "presidential" enough to suck the people in the party who are with Romney, but don't want to be, in line with him.

Within a month or two of announcing, Perry will suck the life out of Bachmann almost entirely, she will drop into the single digits, and also start to syphon off Romney a bit and kill off the other dead wood.

It will be a two horse race between him and Romney.

Coin flip.

Romney with a lot more name recognition and nearly 5 years of running for the job under his belt. He can get some of the moderate voters who can win a general, but his party just does not like him at all.

Perry, a MUCH more suitable R that appeals to all of the three main wings of the party, a tough and rough campaigner. Brings the hard right in line with most of the "moderate" Rs, but has some things he has said and done in the past, and also WILL do and say some things that make him less palatable to independents than Romney. Hardens and energizes the party, but less ability to cull the middle.
