Why does the press keep referring to Cantor as "young"?
Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 05:40 PM by pnwmom
Since when is pushing 50 young? He's only a year apart from Obama. Old enough to act like one of the grownups.

Eric Cantor: The 'Young Gun' In The Debt Standoff

by LIZ HALLORAN

As the debt-ceiling talks descended into yet another day of deadlock, Democrats tried to pin blame on a new target: House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.

That Cantor is at the center of the acrimonious debt-ceiling discussions should surprise no one who has followed his efforts to mobilize small-government conservatives.

"Young Guns," the No. 2 Republican in the House calls them — and himself — in a book he co-wrote last year with two like-minded House colleagues.

3. Yeah, in politics anyone under 50 is "young."
Just like you can claim "youthful indiscretion" on something you did when you were 37. :eyes:

He needs to be put in time out and let the adults try to hammer this out.

8. Maybe beause he acts so damned immature?
I don't think it's a compliment!

Also, he worships Ayn Rand - something that a lot of teens/young adults do, and later grow way beyond her self-centered philosophy.

11. Maybe President Obama should bring him a Happy Meal from McDonald's for the next budget talks.

Maybe the dumb trinket from China they put in those meals will keep Cantor occupied and he won't disrupt the meeting.

13. In comparison to his counterparts he would be pretty well on the young side.
Especially the TeaPubliKlans, they may have a little fresh blood but on historical average, my guess is the median age for a puke is about five and half months older than dirt and many of the younger ones are so consumed by evil that they look ancient at 30-35 like fucking Darth Cheney.

It also doubles as a media ploy to mitigate his asshat-ery.
