1. I like the last one. I can see Obama throwing a sardonic grin as he offers them everything.

Give them everything and they still reject it. At this point there is nothing left to talk about. Let Congress fail and by doing so---Obama becomes Dictator in Chief by way of the 14th Amendment.

2. Offered ever thing they wanted? Thats not negotiation.
Thats not even calling their bluff when you don't get to take home the ante. I wouldn't be proud of that.

3. The pot hasn't been taken yet
I think Obama knows there will be no deal. Boehner has lost control of his caucus and will not be able to get Republican votes for any deal at all. Boehner is going to have to court the Dems to get it done, and this is all positioning for the terms on which those negotiations will be held.

This is, incidentally, exactly how you play poker. Obama just established that Boehner is playing with crap for a hand. His next move will be to bet big, forcing a move Boehner doesn't dare make.

Boehner's true corporate masters are not going to be happy about the default and resulting chaos. They will lean heavily on him to do what is necessary to get the ceiling raised. In the end that will mean a deal that does not involve teabag votes.

4. I don't know what this brings for Obama
The Republicans have been on their one-note "NO" song since Obama began, and they won't be shamed into acting differently now. We already knew they were inflexible. The DC media swarm still won't figure it out. They'll just shrug their shoulders as they always do, as one can see today on the Sunday talk shows.

8. Actually whenever Obama gives them everything that's the only time they start bargaining.
However, this just goes to show how far they will go in the publics eye. They fail Obama takes over complete control.

5. I don't think he is negotiating anymore.
I think he is bluff calling so that if they don't raise the damn ceiling, the fallout will be squarely on them.

7. You don't get it.
They didn't want to play ball. This is the set up. You give them everything to see how far this will go. You give them everything---information is leaked---and Repubs start looking bad. The media will be calling these people to task---I hate the MSM---but let's be honest here... They can be vultures over a story like this.
