The WH seems like its cranked up the machine -- Finally fighting, but for the wrong thing
Edited on Thu Dec-17-09 07:32 PM by Armstead
It seems like Obama has put the machine into gear after months of non-leadership.

Unfortunately he is using it to crush liberals who dare to oppose his push to pass a bill -- any bill -- before Christmas. Sending out troops to the talk shows with all the message discipline and talking points to say basically "No this is not really a good bill but there are some good things in it. So overlook the gifts to Big insurance and just pass the damn thing or you are not on the team. Progressives, just shut up and step aside."

It is distressingly similar to the Clinton DLC machine that forced through NAFTA, Financial Deform and other corporate goodies in the 90's. And pressed the message that Bill didn't really have illicit sex for a while.

If only Obama were willing to be so forceful in doing what would be right for real reform.

1. It's fortunate that they are being so ineffective and transparent in having no heart in it.

5. My question again, is Obama a DLC'er? No one seems to really know the answer
to this. Many had so much hope for this President during both the Primaries and the General, and those many feel let down big time.

8. I say pass the damn thing. So pelt me with cold spaghetti. I don't care.
And PS, I'm a liberal and I don't feel crushed; I want a bill passed, and I know it's not perfect, but it's better than what we have now. It will be modified and built on.

13. It's not just the mandates.
It's more.

This intra-state bullshit is fucking evil.

I don't want the health standards here in California lowered to those in South Carolina.

15. So am I.
Here's the deal: the fix is in.

They have more than the 60 votes for this corporate toxic bill.

They will have Republicans in the wings if Bernie Sanders and a handful don't support it.

Obama will sign this shit into law within 30 to 45 days.

And we will all be fucked.

11. Obama still in shock from confronting the Massive GOP MACHINE/CARTEL
He is now learning the dirty ways of Warlike People...those Bait and Switch Republicans

Obama is a peaceful man...unaccustomed to the extreme negativity of Ignorance and Mind Set...

But...he has a Positive Polarity and just in the nick of time

His Positive Agenda is being scuttled by those envious Pubs who throw sinks and shit.

He also must deal with mass demonstratios designed to undermine the President on anything...they want his ass in a sling...its obvious.

Despite the GOPs efforts, Obama is surving....

People recognize his failures are based on POSITVE Aspects....He is trying to do Good for all of us...not like Bush who failed America at doing BAD THINGS...a DOUBLE WHAMMY....America got HAD by the GOP....who have the AUDACITY to attempt a significant Return to ower

16. Obama and his cronies have never been gun shy about fighting progressives
At least- they haven't been since he secured the nomination- after which, as many might recall the first thing he did out of the gate was spend the next month gratuitously attacking the base (and our issues)- while giving Republicans and the McCain campaign a pass.
