Senate debate is heated after the Republican Party chairman says Democrats have stolen elections.

AUGUSTA - A bill to end same-day voter registration won final legislative approval Friday night after a long and bitter Senate debate.
Democrats didn't make its passage easy.

Infuriated by a Republican leader's published statements accusing the Democratic Party of stealing elections, Senate Democrats gave speeches for hours Friday and made some of the most heated arguments since the legislative session began in January.

Geee, I'm glad to see our Dems actually fought. Mostly this is a "go along state". I never realized until I really got into the local politics this year how much our former Dem governors and wide Dem margins in our legislature have fucked over state workers, teachers, etc. over the years. My senator would rather die than be photographed with a "worker". However, they did fight a few weeks ago when the state was turned over esentially to Anthem.
