When our public entities are shameless liars.. how can any of us be surprised how we got here

The ability to tell right from wrong and feel shame when you purposely or even accidentally lie or say something you know will harm others.. is a learned moral concept.

Children are not born with some internal right vs wrong mechanism.. that is a learned process..like any creature that is social.. you have to learn those things from who ever is rearing you.

Which brings me to this question..what are ultra rightists teaching their children that would bring them to a place that they could open face lie (quick example..Palin, when caught on her mistake about Revere.. took up the mantle that she was right ) and her followers go to places like Wikipedia and try and rewrite history to fit the lie.

Hannity and I saw a guy on CNN yesterday I think from the Heritage Foundation trying to manipulate the truth to fit the lie.. I sat there and tried to take in the implications of it all.

I do not listen to talk radio so I have no idea what they are saying.

Many of these people claim a moral imperative, but they have no sense of shame when they break it.

This is truly a personality dysfunction. It just seems to be getting worse and worse..and I wonder what this next presidential campaign will be like.

EDIT TO ADD: before someone asks me.. I know Cong. Wiener lied, but at least he came forward and admitted it and he was visibly shaken by what it had done.

because they're motivated by hate and greed.

And because REPUKES are liars.

2. They amaze me because they have no sense of ill ease as they lie.

And I am not sure what saddens me more.. people who lie so easily for political gain or those that act on it when they know it is a lie, because it promotes a preconceived political idea.

People who are capable of doing that.. of so compartmentalizing themselves.. and their reality are almost scary

I didn't see the second one. But all I keep thinking is that classic line: Greed is good.
