Uh-oh...Herman Cain: Bachmann’s FFC Prayer ‘The Ultimate Pander’
This creates a Freeper dilemma, to be sure. And will all the people who voted for Cain in the AFA Presidential Poll now call AFA to take back their votes?

Don't expect Herman Cain to include a prayer in his keynote speech before the Faith And Family Conference in Washington tonight. After an interview with TPM Saturday, the ascendant Republican presidential candidate said the public prayer Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) included in her speech was "the ultimate pander."

After our interview, Cain asked me about the other candidate speeches I've seen covering FFC this year. There was no indication that Cain had seen them. I mentioned that Bachmann had highlighted her remarks with a prayer -- she led the crowd in a long, politically-tinged prayer ending in "Amen" at the end of her remarks Friday.

But Cain said that the prayerful moments, which were well-received when Bachmann and Pawlenty delivered them yesterday, smacked of candidates trying a little too hard.

"Well, that sounds like the ultimate pander," he said, dismissively.

1. The republicans aren't going to like this black man once he shows them that he is independent with
his thoughts. No is going to push him around. Of course that won't sit well with republicans because we all know no black man is going to tell them what to do.

2. Wow, apparently Cain does have some principles--no matter how twisted
his politics are.

The Republicans won't like this one bit, though...he's going to have to kiss Ralph Reed's ring or see his campaign destroyed.

3. I dunno, I just read where he did start his speech by reading a Bible verse.
Cain’s not shy -- not even about criticizing his fellow Republicans. In an interview on Saturday with Talking Points Memo, Cain called Rep. Michele Bachmann’s inclusion of a prayer in her speech to the conference “the ultimate pander.” (Bachmann plans to jump into the presidential race in the coming weeks.)

Though notably, Cain, himself, began his remarks Saturday night by reading a bible verse from 2nd Corinthians.

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

So..Bachmann praying is pandering but Cain reading a Bible verse is definitely NOT pandering. Got it.
