America in Danger of Falling to No. 2: Again
I was watching the Today show this morning, and it turns out that Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the IMF chief accused of sexual assault, isn't just another French apparatchik. Not at all: He is (was?) the front-runner to lead the Socialist Party in the next presidential election, which the party is widely expected to win. AND: There is now widespread speculation among the French left that President Nicolas Sarkozy himself "set up" Strauss Kahn in order to destroy his political career!

My friends, we used to have that level of cynical political bloodsport. Remember Nixon? Jesus that man was the maestro of the dirty trick! Then there was Reagan with Iran-Contra and, most recently, the Great Florida Heist of 2000. (Sigh)

Where did we go wrong? Somebody, somebody tell me, in the Sweet Blessed Name of the Lord Jesus Christ Who IS America's OFFICIAL GOD, where did we go wrong???

Happy Monday!

1. From the news reports it doesn't sound like anybody set
Strauss-Kahn up but himself.

4. Yes
What puzzles me is that Strauss-Kahn sounds more German than French. I guess centuries of incest among the Hapsburgs have left their mark.

5. "What is German for Southern Germany?"

"France"

With apologies to the French who lost more soldiers in 6 weeks of fighting than the US in the entire war.

7. What's your problem?

It's a joke. And when you think about it, it is actually a joke about the Germans, not the French.

Did you read the rest of that post?
