Limbaugh Pushes False Claim That McDonald's Hiring Day Contributed To Strong April Jobs Report
snip

the reality is that none of the new jobs announced by McDonald's were included in the April jobs report. Eric Green of TD Securities told The Wall Street Journal in a piece posted before Limbaugh went on the air:

There is no McDonald effect in the report today...The publicized job hiring day was April 19th, one week after the April survey period. We don't know how many of these hires have begun or will begin work or when.

The fact that Limbaugh is willing to forward such a falsehood without making any attempt to verify its veracity is not surprising. His quest to discredit President Obama will continue as long as Obama is in office, and he will attempt to do so at all cost, no matter how fictitious his talking points are.

2. Just a thought, While I am grateful for any jobs. McDonalds
jobs are not living wage. The sad thing is the kinds
of jobs now be created are lower wage jobs.

5. But when you see large franchises with nationwide expansion increasing hiring...
...thats a good sign that the employment market in general may be taking a positive turn. McDonalds isn't hiring more people for the hell of it. Its hiring more people because it feels like it needs more people. I'm not pro-McDonalds. But from a purely objective perspective, its a company that has a franchise located in proximity of just about every American citizen that has access to regular civilization. I don't see how there could be a better sample for the direction of the overall jobs economy. McDonalds hiring 50,000 people a pretty good example of real economic activity, and thats just coming from one company. Yes, its a shitty place to work and the pay is shit. But even in the best economy, there are a lot of jobs like that.

7. Limbaugh -- America's version of Bin Laden
Bin Laden sits in his Afghan mansion......Limbaugh sits in his Florida mansion, both sending out daily hate orders from their protected mansions, to their ignorant, blind followers. Both Limbaugh and Bin Laden fearful of actually facing and debating a living, breathing, thinking being, they use their media within protected mansions from which they are assured that their lies cannot be challenged. Bin Laden has 5-wives....cause he can, Limbaugh had 3-faux wives....cause he needs them to support his lies. Bin Laden's hatred comes from his sick religious beliefs. Limbaugh's faux hatred comes from his greed and hunger for power. Both of these men thrive on the ignorance of their followers.

11. +1. It's been repeated ad nauseum right here, from folks who had no idea...
WTF they were talking about. When Limbaugh talking points become the norm at DU, it's time to rethink DU's mission.

6. The whole idea is stupid anyway
as if you can make a good jobs report look bad by saying some new jobs don't count, and the jobs that would have counted weren't the ones created...

10. With the amount of student loan debt many have after college, you might be better off going to
McDonalds or Wal-mart instead of college
