48. I'm going to read you two statements about the future of the Medicare program. After I read both statements, please tell me which one comes closer to your own view.

A) Medicare should remain as it is today, with a defined set of benefits for seniors. OR B) Medicare should be changed so that seniors who join Medicare in 2022 receive a fixed amount of money from the government each year that they can use to shop for their own private health insurance policy.

1. To the republican members of Congress this means nothing
They are sure they know what is better for the American people than the American people do.

5. Republicans are having buyer's remorse. Taxing the rich is suddenly ok - now that they realize that
either the rich or they, the middle-class will have to pay. The huge majority are middle-class.

When they didn't want the rich to be taxed, they honestly didn't seem to realize it would affect them. They have finally awakened to the fact that it will hit medicare, social security, etc. Even if they personally don't get SS, their grand-parents do or some other loved one or their children get Pell grants, on and on.

As I said - buyer's remorse - but we will all pay for their stupidity in voting against their own best interest.

6. It boggles the mind how some can still believe....
By giving tax cuts to the rich, they will create jobs!! For 10 years they have had tax cuts and in those 10 years the job rate has declined. The only jobs they have created are overseas!!

I think people are finally waking up to this. Saw a townhall where a woman asked about tax cuts for the rich and was told, once again, it will create jobs. She let the congressman have it with both barrels as did the booing crowd!!

Money has not trickled down...it has defied the law of gravity and trickled up!!

We already have a re-distribution of wealth. Any wealth any of us had has been distributed among the rich!!

7. Total irrationality.
GOP meme: The economy sucks. The deficit is out of control. So...let's keep doing what we're doing.

Like you said... Their gig is up.
