Joe McCarthy. With both of them, it's always "I heard" or "they say" or "rumors are." And that blowhard ended up doing a lot of damage.

Trump had the majority of Americans thinking that maybe Obama wasn't a citizen. Are we sure he couldn't do some serious damage, if he keeps going? I'm glad he didn't manage to get a toe-hold in as a Senator.

I made the point that as a young man Obama's birth certificate was good enough to get him his passport. She countered with, "it supposedly was not a U.S. passport." Evidently parroting this long ago debunked story.

My girlfriend comes up with these occasionally. Lately, the latest news is, if you want to buy American gas, buy Mirrastar gas. Without even looking for anything to back it up, I explained to her how the gas distribution works. If that were true you wouldn't need to find out about it in a email. Walmart would promote the living shit out of that! For a smart woman, she can sure swallow the bagger stuff sometimes.
