Are Republicans going to work to create jobs? Maybe after the “In God We Trust” motto vote
Edited on Tue Feb-08-11 10:39 PM by ProSense
First, Steve Benen noted at the end of January

<...>

I'm curious -- when, exactly, might we see Republicans work on creating jobs? After tackling health care, abortion, gay marriage, and school vouchers, maybe then the GOP might care about unemployment?

<...>

Not today!

And now, via Daily Kos: A Republican resolution on national motto -- still no word on job creation

Here's the latest effort by House Republicans to create jobs waste more time pandering to their base:

Republican Rep. John Kline is a sponsor of a resolution in the U.S. House that would reaffirm “In God We Trust” as the national motto and encourages the posting of the motto on government buildings and in public schools.

<...>

Republicans have controlled the House of Representatives for over a month now, and while they've found plenty of time to read the Constitution and to attack health care, equal rights and reproductive rights -- and now this -- they still haven't gotten around to even talking about job creation ... except to condemn it.

Edited title.

1. It is not in their interest to create jobs...
Their ideology does not allow for the notion that the government can create jobs.

And if enough jobs were made to reduce the unemployment say a full point or two, people might credit Obama, and Republicans might lose the 2012 election. If he gets enough young people to the polls, he might even threaten their majority.

Maybe they will create jobs after they win all branches of government in 2012.

Maybe pigs will fly out of Boehner's ass.

4. After they succeed at adding Reagan to Mt Rushmore.
And renaming California to Reagania.

Then they might consider thinking about jobs.
