People are saying it would be political suicide for Obama to cut SS.
It would be far worse. Political suicide maybe, but also real, literal murder. To cut the benefits of elderly folks who are just scratching by, forcing them to make choices between catfood, medications and heat, that is a lethal game.

3. So where is the report
that Obama wants to cut SS? I've been looking all over for it and I just can't find anything with Obama saying that he is going to, is planning to or desires to cut SS.

28. So who's claiming there's a report?
I've been looking all over, and I just can't find anything that suggests there's a report in which Obama says that he is going to, is planning to or desires to cut SS.

Except of course your straw man posts.

7. But the cost of junior's tax cuts for the wealthy, 20 years of reckless Republican fiscal policies
and the RW PNAC wet-dream agenda of perpetual wars are not going to be borne by the uber-wealthy, large corporations, nor the Pentagon, so guess what and who are left to bear this burden? ;)

the Democratic party after being a yellow dog for 62 years (since birth ; ). A real Democrat would not even consider it.

9. What was it Dwight Eisenhower said...
Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, l952-----

23. Unfortunately things have changed
since Eisenhower's day.

Now nearly the entire media is framing the social security argument to favor the wishes of those few Texas oil millionaires. Contrary arguments aren't even heard. Hell, the Today Show has Glenn Beck as a guest this morning. We used to have Fairness Doctrine.

12. I am afraid they are correct. The Republicans ran this past
elections grabbing for the Seniors. The promised no
changes to SS for those 55 and above. They even
an ads in Ohio. Also this has been Paul Ryan(GOP Budget Comm.)
has has used this all along in his discussions of Budget,
Deficit, and SS.

The President gets the blame or the credit.

agree to repeal Health Care reform, which he is about as likely to do.
