Gingrich aims high (GOP should aim at winning 40 more house and 13 senate seats in '12)
Newt Gingrich said Republicans "should aim for winning 40 more House seats and 12 or 13 more Senate seats in the next election," the Myrtle Beach Sun News reports.

Said Gingrich: "If you're going to govern in 2013, you're going to need a really large margin."

To do so, he said GOP candidates "need to spend at least 30 percent of their time campaigning with Blacks, Hispanics and other minorities to increase the percentage of those communities which vote for Republicans."

Yes, they should campaign with blacks and hispanics and other minorities but not do anything for them once they get their super majority.

1. I hope they lose 40 house seats and 13 senate seats.
Fraud has to be watched for - and disenfranchisement of Blacks, Hispanics and other minorities. That is how they are going to get their votes - fraud and disenfranchisement .

19. The only way we lose 40+13 seats is if...
the president starts a 3rd war somewhere. Extremely unlikely.
Actually he may have Iraq troops out by 2012. And Afghan war
might show some progress although I am not at all hopeful on
the Afghan front. It is a quagmire. The sooner American troops
are pulled the better we will be.

3. wants back
Gingrich wants to get back into the game.

I doubt that GOP will be able to do any of that. The GOP has no interest in those groups.

9. Marco Rubio and Jeb are the only ones who can bring in Hispanics.
Rubio for obvious reasons and Jebbie for his wife and all those brown family members including the handsome 20-something lawyer son.

11. K&R- Gingrich was one of those who confidently predicted a "permanent
republican majority" in the US, which of course has not happened...yet.

they will be lucky if anyone wants to see anything else from a neo-con led House and little more than crap flinging monkeys called R's in the Senate.

17. That won't happen.
In fact, the exact opposite will happen. The Dems will gain at least ten seats in the House, five in the senate, and Obama will win by at least 55% of the voters.

20. I think we all agree here Newt is smoking crack...
Newt's problem: A relatively small percentage of the electorate in 2010 voted for the Tea Party Vision Of Limited Government, Lower Taxes And Lower Regulation (copyright (C) 2009-2010, worldwide rights reserved). Most people voted their pocketbooks. They voted Republican because we've got 10 percent unemployment and a $13 trillion debt, and SOMETHING had to be done. The Republican Party caused the problem through deregulation and tax cuts. The only cure for the economy is immediate dereaganization, and the Republicans won't do it.

This is what's gonna happen for the next 20 years: the Republicans won't dereaganize the country, the economy will remain in the shitter and they'll lose Congress and the White House in 2012. The Democrats won't dereaganize and they'll lose Congress in 2014. In 2016 the R's will lose Congress and the D's will lose the White House. Until a good dereaganization program is implemented we will remain in the shitter and control of the country will bounce back and forth between the parties.
