Palin: "They claim political debate has somehow gotten more heated just recently."
"But when was it less heated? Back in those “calm days” when political figures literally settled their differences with dueling pistols ...

THIS is a part of an address on the tragic events in Tucson.

Unbelievable.

1. Teabaggers wish all of the social progress of the 20th century never happened.
When "gentlemen" settled disputes by shooting at each other, blacks & Jews knew their place and the wealthy could hire goons to beat up & kill workers who want labor unions.

Somehow it was just better then.

10. THIS!
And the ruling elite, who fund and pull the TP strings, don't want an educated and financially secure middle class because the educated and financially secure middle class helped drive the social progress of the 20th century.

The ruling elite want a poor, dumb, dependent serf class who'll keep they're mouths shut and keep on shoveling coal.

5. What the hell is that?
Straw man, false dichotomy or what?
But it is a perfect example of some thing like that....someone calls for calm and she attacks the notion of calm itself.

9. SPeaking With Congressional Aides This Past Year, never have they witnessed such vitriol and hatred
Regardless of which extremist language Loughner was influenced by, and recognizing the possibility that he was influenced by irresponsible talk from all across the spectrum, the bigger question is what good comes of this ankle biting vitriol.

I had an opportunity to talk with a couple of Congressional staffers this past year. They were mortified and worried in the extreme about the level of hatred, and inflamed passions being whipped up by elements of the Tea Party Movement. Long term staffers had never experienced anything that remotely resembled the anger, and inappropriate language that was being orchestrated by various organizations like Dick Armey's "Freedom Works."

Secret Service and Congressional Police also recorded a record number of threats directed at President Obama and Congressmen and Senators. It is a matter of record that the vast majority of these threats and targets of vitriol were Democrats.

Concerned with the inability to protect the public, or control the unruly crowds many Congressmen canceled Town Hall meetings and dramatically reduced contact with their constituents.

This is Banana Republic politics, thuggery, pure and simple.
