Democrats, short of votes, delay action on legalization for illegal immigrant youngsters

Democrats have delayed a showdown vote on legislation carving out a path to legal status for foreign-born youngsters brought to this country illegally.

Facing GOP objections, Democrats are putting aside the so-called Dream Act. They're short of the 60 votes needed to advance the measure.

Democratic officials say they'll try to move a House-passed version after the Senate acts on funding the government and extending tax cuts. Republicans have said they won't agree to consider anything else until those issues are addressed.

1. I think the title may be misleading. Gop are going to filibuster all

other issues until they get their tax cut. Democrats are just trying to find another way around this. We the people are still being held hostage by the repugs.

2. DADT Repeal, New START Treaty, Dream Act, 9/11 Health Bill: all dead. Don't believe

it when the repigs say they want the tax cut bill first. They are out stop everything that would make Obama or Democrats have a legislative or foreign policy success.
