8. I wonder if Reid is truly wanting to repeal or looking to make political hay?
It seems to me he almost wants it to die so he can have some talking point against the Repugs next year.

10. If he wanted it to die, he'd bring it to the floor now...
.... the key vote for repeal says she wants time to "read the bill" and that appears to be what he's giving her.

9. ** Harry saying now "I'll decide whether to bring NDAA bill to the floor in next lil' bit..."
(the NDAA Is the larger National Defesnse Authorization Bill which contains the DADT repeal amendment)

.... the fact that he's thinking is not good news.

..... just said "let's say we brought it to the floor for cloture, it would be a Saturday cloture vote so folks feel like they have time to consider the bill" (which is Sen. Collins beef, she wants "time to read the bill.")

You all starting to see how this ALL works together? You dont want the tax bill? Is it worth losing DADT repeal? Something to chew on.

14. Right but....
.... the sh*t apparently hit the fan in the last half hour.

Harry got up and made a statement saying .... well, I dont want to try to characterize it less I misquote him but, suffice it to say a LOT of phone calls going back and forth between Congressional leader ship and the White House ATM.

(it was something along the line of he was going to decide in the next bit when to bring up the tax bill and the defense bill)

(and Reid just announced he'd hold vote on the Tax plan tonight)

.... if things stall THEN, it means they never had a chance. Not clear how much of what's going on in bargaining.
