"Harry Reid rips John McCain over ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’"
note: This article is important because it's posted on Reid's website, Tweeted by his office. Telling? Lets hope so. But he could always use some reassurance.

Call Senator Reid now, ask him to bring DADT to the floor for a vote in the lame duck: 202-224-3542

Harry Reid rips John McCain over ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’
Politico, 12/4/2010 - Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) ripped into Sen. John McCain on Saturday, saying the Arizona Republican has issued a "dizzying" defense of the Pentagon's "don't ask, don't tell" policy banning gays from openly serving in the military.

McCain, his party's 2008 presidential nominee, has defended "an obsolete, embarrassing, discriminatory policy that weakens our military and offends our values," Reid said on the Senate floor before a series of votes on extending tax cuts.

The majority leader likened McCain and other Republicans to the Peanuts cartoon character Lucy, who continues to pull the football away at the last second as Charlie Brown runs to kick it.

"First, Sen. McCain said he would seriously consider repealing it if the military leadership thought we should, and the military leadership said it should be repealed, he pulled away the football. Then Sen. McCain said he would need to see a study from the Pentagon. When the Pentagon produced the study saying repeal would have no negative effect at all, he pulled away the football again," Reid said.

"And his latest trick, he said yesterday that he opposed repealing 'don't ask, don't tell,' a proposal that would be a great stride forward for both equality and military readiness ... because of the economy," Reid added. "I repeat, the senior senator from Arizona said he couldn't support repealing 'don't ask, don't tell' because of the economy.

1. Just bring it to the floor, Harry--and lay some ground rules. That's all
that needs to happen.

2. Ouch....Right-On Harry
unfortunately McCain, two time prez-candidate loser is so bent on revenge, he'll now say the opposite of what he did years ag...o before the humiliation of being beaten by "that one". He's a bitter old man.

7. Reid: "GOP doesn't have votes to keep DADT out of defense bill...."
Reid says GOP doesn't have the votes to keep DADT repeal out of defense auth bill which is why they are stalling it.

There is ALL kinds of conflicting info on this.

Reid's opening challenging McCain over it (via this article.)

Lieberman is begging Reid to keep Senate in session in order to have time to vote.

Andrea Mitchell reporting that Gates has told the troops he's "not optimistic for repeal." (about half hour ago on MSNBC)

Prominent LGBT blogger Kerry Eleveld seems to be near despair.

The usually fair minded Greg Sargent is pissed at Reid and the President.

But again, REID, the one can bring the vote to the floor sounds like he's raring for a fight!

CALL HIM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

9. I called his office and then asked if they're getting many other calls on this. The guy said
he can't disclose that information. I said, "Come on-you can tell ME!" He was slightly amused but still refused.
