1. Maybe Obama actually wants the cuts for the wealthy...
Edited on Wed Dec-01-10 06:22 PM by polichick
As was true with other issues, even when the people are clear about what they want he goes the other way.

3. If he wants to play "Charlie Brown and the football" he should do it on his own time
I hate being dragged into that mode as it's just not my style to allow people to take advantage of me.

K&R to your sentiments.

4. they're not bullying him--it's professional wrestling. He's pretending to disagree with what they
want, then giving up after a few tepid feints at opposition.

It reminds me of a scene on TRUE BLOOD. A vampire hired a hooker and asked her to pretend like she didn't want him to drink her blood while he was drinking it. Her act was so lame he lost his appetite.

That's about the only way Obama is going to stop the GOP: he'll so limply surrender, they'll be embarrassed about taking from him.

8. Obama could promise to veto any extension of tax cuts for the rich
That's a stand he could (but almost certainly won't) take.

7. Balls to the wall is cute, but
what next? Since I can't trust that they're reading blogs, I called my congressmen and the white house today. My next calls are to Jon Kyle and Mitch Mcconnell. I may not live in their state, but what they do impacts me so I have a right to let them know what I think.

14. IMO, START is dead. Republicans will not allow the President to be involved in a
foreign policy success. They are only out to destroy him in any way they can. Any way.

17. It has nothing to do with bullying. The choice is either extend all or none.
Republicans have the power to force that choice.

Then again, you seem like you favor the tax cuts for the rich, since you seem to be more than happy to enable a Republican victory in 2012 that would slash the wealthy's tax rate even more.

20. Nobody cares about the process
That is why we lost the midterms, the process became more important than the end result.

The CBO says just getting rid of all the Bush tax cuts alone would balance the budget. It's a no brainer.
