McCain: "Inexperienced candidate trying to fulfill campaign promise"
John McCain says the effort to repeal the military's ban on openly gay service members doesn't reflect a problem in the military.

Rather, he sees it as an effort to fulfill a political promise that was made by an "inexperienced" candidate for president.

McCain spoke Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

25. fails to make the distinction between actual President and candidate, then
acts as if fulfilling a campaign promise is a bad thing.

I guess lying to his constituents is how McCain envisions winning Presidential elections.

5. He also said that DADT is working-that there is no problem. That shows how much of a liar
he is. He knows very well there have been gay people in the military who have been forced out WITHOUT them "telling." I hope some gay ex-military people testify next week and tell McCain to his face that he's wrong.

15. Are these people totally nuts? The gays are there . . . now . . .
they're just not talking about it. If any service members might become afraid if DADT is repealed, they must be shaking in their boots right now. You never know about the guy in the next cot, phobe.

18. From an idiot who picked Palin as his running mate and made the election a blow out
this is laughable

Had he not been so "mavericky" the last election would have been close close close and maybe different. (Thankfully it was not for those of you thinking about twisting this to something else)

19. McCain is a "ranking member" of the Senate Armed Services committee.
I am sure they will never allow the repeal of DADT after January.

20. Both he and Bush are archetypal examples of spoiled privileged brats.
They are prime examples of Legacy students that are awarded advancement solely because of family connections. Firstly, McCain would have never provided with an appointment to the Naval Academy except for the fact that his grandfather and father were both admirals. He graduated in the bottom of his class and would have been kicked except for the father's intervention. His military career was anything except distinguished. Bush was of the same caliber. A legacy student. A fucking loser at everything he attempted even when it was given to him. Unfortunately, this is typical of many who are in positions of power which they inherited along with their fortunes. The leadership of the nation is distressingly third rate at best. The most important criteria for service is the size of your bank account and membership in numerous country clubs of the idle rich.

24. That's funny, John.
Here I was thinking that you stubbornly standing in the way of a hilariously bigoted law that everyone and their mother wants changed was a crotchety old man's way of getting back at the "n*gra what done beat me in that there Pursidential ee-lection."
