Here's John Boehner's "scheduling conflict"

Here's John Boehner's "scheduling conflict"

by Jed Lewison

You know how John Boehner and the Republicans were too busy to meet with President Obama and Democrats to talk about tax cuts?

Well, here's what caused their "scheduling conflict" -- a press conference...at which Boehner demanded, among other things, that Democrats agree to extend all Bush tax cuts on income over $250,000.

I guess Boehner figured why bother sitting down with President Obama and the Democrats (who still met to discuss tax cuts today) when he could just as easily throw bombs form the sidelines?

He and McConnell can't face President Obama. How is it that they are ALWAYS assumed to be *stronger* on national security than Democrats when these guys can't handle facing President Obama?
:wtf:

Well, I guess he was there when President Obama handed them their asses back in February. That whole exchange should've been recorded on DVD and used as a Congressional Democratic training video.

4. If he had gone, he would have been asked how he wanted to pay for them.
It was easier to make a press conference where nobody would ask relevant questions anyway.

7. Wonder if they had to go around finding things to do?
.... in addition to this presser .... ya know, to look busy. (All the while, they were in Boehner's office playing spades.)

..... except Republicans probably dont play Spades .... playing ..... whatever old white men play.

Edited on Thu Nov-18-10 11:10 PM by chollybocker
These A-holes are sooo desperate to avoid another prime time smack-down by our POTUS. Boehner has been known to cry in public.

9. Boehner only cares about the deficit when it involves spending cuts.
He doesn't care about the deficit when it comes to tax cuts. That is not why the fiscal conservatives elected him. They really want something done about the debt. How can we make this plain to the voters?
