One big reason Donald Trump will NEVER be the Republican nominee for President
Edited on Thu Nov-18-10 04:16 PM by zulchzulu
He's pro-choice.

Game. Set. Match. Toast. Gonzo.

This is only posted since I heard his jackass interview on Moron Joe this morning.

3. I don't think he's a Republican. He was backing Hillary in '08
I would imagine he'd run as an independent if he did.

Of course, he won't run because he doesn't have any intention of running. He just puts this crap out there every couple of years because it gets him publicity.

4. He's a Republican. And he's pro-choice. So he has ZERO political
future with that party.

6. Has he said he's a Republican?
In 2000 he wanted to run as a Reform candidate.

I've never heard him say he's a Republican, but you seem sure.

9. Someone on DU posted that he had stated so unequivocally in relation
to his current discussion about running. I didn't trace down the primary source for a quote or link, just assumed it was true because it makes sense. I mean, really. The Donald, a Dem????

10. Uh...there are more parties than the Republican and Democratic parties, you know
And he could even run as an independent. I don't know why you interpret someone suggesting that he's not a Republican means that he must be a Democrat.

14. Uh.....I don't know why you're getting your knickers in a twist over this
and picking on me. Sheesh. I heard that HE said he's "A REPUBLICAN". Go be mean to HIM if you don't like the news.

20. Strangely enough, most billionaires are Democrats
While millionaires overwhelmingly are Republicans, I guess when you become a billionaire you stop being greedy and don't mind paying your fair share of taxes.

21. He also backed John Kerry in 2004, I don't think he is serious about this
But you never know, he might pull a "Bloomberg", switch parties and make a run for it. But I doubt it too.

5. And he's not, as far as I know, a religious crazy.
I think he's nominally a "Republican" for tax reasons, but other than that he doesn't really seem to embody the Republican mindset.

7. I disagree
He completely embodies the Republican mindset. He'll run on fiscal responsibility and has claimed bankruptcy 3 times. Perfect specimen.

18. Presidents are generally expected to only have ONE First Lady per time in office?
Edited on Thu Nov-18-10 10:12 PM by Clio the Leo
Although, the prospect of a glamorous, money no object Presidential wedding is VERY tempting. :)

Elton John could perform!! (VERY cryptic joke, see if anyone will get it.)

I grew up with them, my mother is one of them. But they are idiots when it comes to economic issues.

23. FL just elected a GOP governor who was president of a hospital company which provided abortions
He just had to profess that he is pro-life and spend a lot of money. Trump could do that.

26. But Like all Republicans he can Just say he is Pro-Life and all will be Fine
Hypocricy has not stopped the party before. We've seen the media and their base willing to accept fli-flops en masse..so today he may be pro-choice but he is completely fine if he starts saying he is pro-choice...the world is in balance
