Granted obama governs like a coroporate democrat and so will probably feel more at home in the republican primary than a democratic progressive primary but i think his main problem will be because he is black...there is no chance a republican base will nominate a black man...we didnt even have white majorities for Obama in the GE except for the more open-minded youth vote.
