Republicans are no longer serious about governing
Edited on Wed Nov-17-10 09:17 PM by Nancy Waterman
As far as I am concerned, it is now official that Republicans are no longer serious at all about governing. Politics, which used to be a means to an end (governing), has become the end itself. And because of this, Republicans are willing to do anything, no matter how bad it might be for the country, no matter how shameful, as long as it gives them more power.

This business with the nuclear treaty is making me just furious. And the nonsense about the tax cuts is not far behind.

2. They used to be
But not in the last decade, and certainly not since Obama came to power.

7. Since at least Raygun they hate government and are out to destroy it.
How could any sane person want to give over our government to those who hate it?

8. Well, look at 1994: they did have a plan, and they tried to enact it
It was a plan that was monumentally bad, but it was a more or less coherent vision of where they wanted the country to go; the country just didn't want to go there.

These guys don't even have an agenda. It's just political nihilism at its weirdest.

3. Ummmm
I would say that since Reagan they have never been serious.....
I can't wait for the folks that voted them or didn't vote to see what those votes or lack of votes mean in real life.

These Teabagger/Republicans are willing to put National Security at risk because of their religious beliefs.....that is all that needs to be said....

5. We're paying their salaries, and Republicans refuse to do their jobs.
Meanwhile, they're always complaining about "people on the public dole". How ironic is that?

6. The Repigs and the Teatards don't give a shit about this country or its people.
All they want is to be in power and get huge amounts of cash from lobbyists, Wall Street, and the health insurance industry. If we want our country to fully recover from the deep economic downturn, we need to impeach them, and end the Tea Party forever.

10. It is unAmerican for the Repubs to fuck around with this
government's foreign policy agreements purely for self- serving political reasons. Goddamn SOBs should be investigated and rapped on the head for malfeasance or misfeasance of office.

15. I agree with lumpy
They should be prosecuted for malfeasance or abuse of power when they do things like shut the government down or refuse to ratify a desperately needed treaty. Besides which, it is time to put these bullies on the defensive. I feel like they keep punching Obama in the nose and then blame him that it bleeds. And I think the meme that they are not at all serious about governing, only about payback to their rich friends, should be repeated and repeated and shouted from the rooftops!

I'm ready to secede.

I feel like I'm just sitting around waiting for our country to regain its sanity.

12. They never were. They just wanted to make the rich richer by cutting tax. Everything else they do is
just to promote that goal. The wedge issues, the talking points, the hawkish policies are all about giving rich people money. They weren't serious under Bush and they really aren't serious now.

13. Why don't more Americans see it?
Do they not have the time or interest to pay attention? Hoodwinked? Information overload?

Or do they see it and choose to look the other way for some reason?

White solidarity?

14. I think they are interested
in governing as poorly as possible. They have come to understand that if they do not fully destroy the system, sooner or later it will fall into "enemy hands". This time they intend to fully scorch the earth.

16. 2012 Campaign starts now
This is why the next elections are the most important in American history. I know that's thrown around so often that it sounds like a Cliche, but if the Republicans gain control of all 3 branches of government in the next election all hope for our Country will be lost. The hole they've dug for us is already so deep, but we are not buried yet.

Start donating, start organizing and mobilizing now!!!
