Sarah Palin will run, with the blessing of the Establishment.
The deal is this: She will pull in the teabagger vote, thereby ending the rift in the Repugnant Party, and will be pushed by the media.

Furthermore, she will win the General Election just like Bush did, with full media support, except Keith and Rachel will be allowed to rage about her to their 2 million or so viewers in order to maintain the illusion of fairness.

Once in office, she will be the pretty little puppet of her backers, and will talk the Teabagger talk while walking the corpo-bankster walk.

You heard it here first.

3. If she runs it won't be with the "blessing" of the establishment
It will be because the establishment is scared shitless to oppose her.

Same net effect, maybe, but a way different cause.

5. Sorry, tea beggers may win in a low turnout election like '10, but Sarah Palin will never be elected
Edited on Wed Nov-17-10 03:21 PM by WI_DEM
President of the USA. She has too many negatives and too many people think she is unqualified. And even when they did win it was mainly in house races where people don't pay as much attention. In Senate races with prominent tea beggers such as Angle in NV, Buck in CO and O'Donnell in DE they lost. In a race vs. Palin Dems would be nearly unanimous against her and independents who generally decide election would oppose her. I would also bet at least 10% of the GOP would vote against her.

7. You misunderestimate the power of the Corpomedia.
I used to say the same thing about Reagan (pre-1980) that everyone's now saying about Palin.

10. The corpomedia blew it's wad
evidence of that is Angle's defeat. No matter how hard they tried...it just couldn't work. The only way the corporate media can hope to accomplish anything on the magnitude of getting Palin elected is by being so subtle people don't recognize their hand in any political maneuvering. They can't be subtle.

15. I don't think Angle has any charisma
to electrify audiences, unlike Palin whom the teabaggers can't
get enough of. In a huge campaign that can make the difference.
Whereas Angle comes across as border line Alzeimers, Palin comes
across as a Barbie with new Duracell batteries, mountain climbing & all.

8. The SC decision on campaign funding makes it a totally new environment, now we
will see 10's of billions from corporations and other groups. She is a media dream and they will pump her up. If they pick Rubio for VP, we will be in trouble.

14. Christine O'Dumbbell didn't have the Establishment (Rove)
behind her.

I'm betting that they will find a way to control Sarah & then run her. There will be no debates. There will only be puff pieces. Rove by then will be behind her, once he has figured out where here strings are.

19. But that's the point. They weren't behind her, and she crashed and burned.
Edited on Wed Nov-17-10 09:14 PM by superduperfarleft
The GOP establishment was TERRIFIED of O'Donnell running, and rightfully so (since she got the figurative shit kicked out of her by Castle). They would never let Sarah anywhere near the presidency, the only option she would have would be a write-in campaign after she's destroyed in the primaries. And all that would do is split the GOP vote and hand Obama a victory (which I think he'll get anyway).

Deep down, they know that the teabaggers scare the shit out of the majority of Americans, and besides, I think the teabaggers are going to start to outlive their usefulness by then. O'Donnell, Angle, and that crowd are just the tipping point. Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but that's what I predict.

17. I agree with everything you said except that she'll be a puppet
She may acquiesce to the PTB during the election to get elected, if she's smart and can control her ego enough, but once in office, I believe she'll "go rogue".

I really do.

She scares the shit out of me.

20. There are still many establishment Repubs who don't like her and want the nomination for themselves
or their buddies. She does not have an established political family like the W. did. W. had insider help and people going to bat for him all the way because of his father.

reapportionment following the 2010 Census.

Actually it helps any one running against Obama.

Texas gains (four seats), Florida (two seats), Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, South Carolina, Utah and Washington (one seat each).

By contrast, New York and Ohio are likely to lose two seats each, while Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania will be down one apiece.
